Book Exchange at MajaraBook Transformed into a Social Experience

Kiara Kabousi, manager of MajaraBook branches, in an interview with a reporter from the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA), spoke about the opening of MajaraBook’s new branch: ‘MajaraBook’ is a book exchange complex that operates nationwide with the aim of exchanging second-hand books and providing easier and more affordable access. This complex strives to ensure books find their way back into life; in other words, they are circulated among people interested in reading.

She continued: The second branch of ‘MajaraBook’ recently opened on Keshavarz Boulevard in Tehran. The space of this branch is designed to be completely different and modern; from colors to decor and arrangement; including a very large slide placed inside the complex to provide an attractive environment for children and adults. In fact, the goal was for the bookstore not to be a formal and dry place, but rather an entertaining, warm, and lively environment for people.

Kabousi added: We tried to make the new branch a bit different from the previous one; we tried to transform book exchange from a very simple transaction into a ‘social experience’; so people can come, bring books, take books, spend their time, or relax inside the complex, work, or even participate in various programs. They can attend activities such as meetings held for book reviews and discussions; of course, the branch located on Keshavarz Boulevard is a good space for small, friendly, and intimate gatherings; therefore, in addition to book exchange, this branch can be a hub for discussions, literary gatherings, and cultural events.

The manager of MajaraBook branches said: At MajaraBook center, there is a different experience compared to other bookstores where only books are exchanged. I can truly say that the managers and investors of the complex have their own specific goals and we are not in a hurry for rapid expansion; the main goal is to focus on the quality of services we provide, and we prefer to move slowly but with greater precision, trying to understand our audience more deeply.

According to Kabousi, the second branch is actually an important step, as it is designed to be much more experience-oriented and helps us understand what kind of space our modern audience prefers. Generally, we have plans to open new branches, but we are moving slowly and steadily.
