According to the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA), the play ‘War of Silence’ narrates the life and character of Hujjat al-Islam Seyed Ali Akbar Abutorabifard, a freed prisoner who, during eight years of captivity in the prisons of the Ba’athist regime of Iraq, not only did not falter but became a symbol of resilience and hope. Abutorabi, with his steadfast faith and humane behavior, kept the spirits of the prisoners alive and, with his kind demeanor, influenced even the enemy guards. After his release, he continued on the path of service and justice-seeking, leaving a lasting name in Iran’s history.

This play is based on the book ‘Pasiad, Son of Soil’ written by Mohammad Ghobadi and adapted by Simin Banaei for radio play. It aims to present parts of the realities of the captivity period and Abutorabifard’s influential role to the audience in an auditory format.

A group of experienced radio artists has voiced this work, including Roya Fallahi, Mehdi Namini Moghadam, Majid Hamzeh, Bahador Ebrahimi, Ayoub Aghakhani, Biouk Mirzaei, Mojtaba Tabatabaei, Mohammad Aghamohammadi, Reza Ghalambar, Saeed Soltani, Mohammad Sharifimoghadam, Hamid Yazdani, Abbas Tofighi, Sina Nikookar, and Shamsi Sadeghi. Also, Mahdieh Taghizadeh is the producer, Mohammad Reza Ghobadifar is the sound engineer (effector), and Reza Taheri is the sound recordist for this project.
