A School in Neyshabur with 200 Writers and Book Authors
According to the reporter of Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Mashhad, the ancient city of Neyshabur, once again, with the effort and endeavor of its students and educators, has taken a big step towards promoting the culture of reading. Abureyhan Biruni Middle School in this city, by nurturing 200 student authors and planning to print 200 book titles by the end of the academic year, has become a symbol of enthusiasm and passion for books and reading among the young generation. The ceremony of ringing the bell to start the provincial Book and Reading Week and unveiling the works of these students promises a bright future for the culture of reading in Iran.
The Director of Education of Neyshabur city, coinciding with the 33rd Book Week of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the ringing of the ‘Book Bell’ in this school, said: Abureyhan Biruni Middle School in Neyshabur is one of the most successful schools in the province in the field of books and reading, such that 200 students of this school are book authors.
Ebrahim Heidari added: On this occasion, today the ceremony of ringing the bell to start the provincial Book and Reading Week for schools was held at Abureyhan Biruni School in Neyshabur.
He continued: In this ceremony, 60 books written by students of Abureyhan Biruni School were also unveiled, and in addition, the ‘Fruit Tree of Books’ project and the ‘Book Cafe’ collection of this school were also inaugurated.
He referred to Neyshabur being the Book Capital of Iran in 2016, and added: According to the plans made, more than 200 books written by students of Abureyhan Biruni School in Neyshabur will be printed by the end of the current academic year.
