A Great Book Festival Will Be Held in Semnan

Rasoul Mousavi Nezhadian, in an interview with the correspondent of Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Semnan, announced the holding of the provincial event, the Great Book Festival, concurrently with Book and Reading Week, with the presence of cultural activists, publishers, writers, and artists of the province.

He stated that this ceremony will be held on the 28th of Aban (Iranian calendar month, roughly mid-November) this year, adding: One of the goals of this ceremony is to explain the high status of books in society.

The Director-General of Islamic Guidance of Semnan Province also stated that provincial writers will participate in this major conference, and some of them will be honored. He added: Public library officials, librarians, cultural figures, media personnel, and book activists will be present at this ceremony.

Mousavi Nezhadian further mentioned that Semnan Central Library will host this conference, and said: During Book and Reading Week, other special programs such as cultural and artistic events, poetry nights and book introductions, reading competitions, and honoring librarians will also be held.
