Book Exhibition Opened in Gorgan / A Cultural Event for Book Week
Javad Ghorbani, in an interview with the correspondent of the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Gorgan, stated that a book exhibition has been set up in the exhibition structure of Fakhreddin As’ad Gorgani Hall, in line with the 33rd edition of the Islamic Republic of Iran Book Week, which is being held this year with the slogan “Let’s Read for Iran.”
He added that this exhibition, opened with the aim of promoting reading culture and easy public access, will welcome enthusiasts until November 18. More than 2,000 book titles are offered at this exhibition, covering topics such as religious, historical, psychology, literature, sacrifice and resistance, social sciences, children and young adults, and language learning. Enthusiasts can purchase their desired books with 30 to 50 percent discounts.
Ghorbani continued: This exhibition has been organized through the efforts of the Golden Mani Tablet Institute and in cooperation with the General Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Golestan Province. Lovers of reading culture can visit this exhibition from 8 AM to 10 PM.
He then invited the general public to attend this culture-building event, noting that a series of centralized and decentralized programs specifically for Book Week have been planned for the current year in cooperation with relevant organizations and institutions. He stated that the planned programs will be announced in detail as soon as possible.
According to IBNA, the slogan for this year’s Book Week is “Let’s Read for Iran,” which was also the slogan for the 36th Tehran International Book Fair held in May. This slogan, introduced at the Tehran International Book Fair in May this year, is now repeated during Book Week to show that cultural meanings, if extended within the context of time and collective experience, can transform into a national bond.
