Director of Qoqnoos Publications: International conferences are the path for exporting Iranian content

Tehran-IRNA – The director of Qoqnoos Publications, emphasizing that today in the field of book exports we should not only think about selling books in their physical sense, said: International conferences, seminars, and workshops are a path for exporting Iranian content.

Mehdi Hosseinzadegan, the director of Qoqnoos Publications, in an interview with IRNA’s book correspondent, pointed to the possibility of exporting children’s books to the global market, stating: Publishers and cultural activists must examine what content has the potential for translation and presentation in global markets. As a successful publisher that has been active in the private sector for years, I believe we can offer cultural products and goods in the global market.

Emphasizing that today in the field of book exports we should not only think about selling books in their physical sense, he added: We must think about how we can present Iranian content to the world. Content is not just in the form of a physical book; it can also be in the form of audiobooks, e-books, and podcasts. Sometimes, by selling the copyright of a book, we can generate foreign currency for the country.

The director of Qoqnoos Publications continued: One of the paths for exporting Iranian content is through international conferences, seminars, and workshops; by inviting influential figures from global markets, publishers, and literary agencies and introducing Iranian content to them. If we focus on these paths, we will certainly succeed.

Hosseinzadegan, stating that attention must be paid to which Iranian products are suitable for the target market, continued: On the other hand, we must also support Iranian content producers. Literary agencies are good intermediaries for exporting Iranian content, but sometimes in the selection of works, they only pay attention to books that have been selected in domestic festivals, while other books might also be suitable for presentation in global markets. We must support writers and literary agencies.
