Director of Qoqnoos Publications: International conferences pave the way for exporting Iranian content
Tehran-IRNA- The director of Qoqnoos Publications, stating that international conferences pave the way for exporting Iranian content, said: “Given the global community’s current need to become familiar with Iranian culture and art, we must introduce the works of Iranian writers and poets on an international level.”
In an interview with an IRNA reporter on Monday regarding the export of cultural products, Hossein Tajar Ahmadabadi said: “Exporting cultural products means ‘reverse translation.’ When a foreign book is translated into Persian, this is considered an import of cultural products. Therefore, the export of cultural content is realized through the translation of original works into other languages.”
The director of Qoqnoos Publications added: “To expand our presence in international markets, we must take several steps. There should be a specific government entity or organization responsible for this, which, by providing facilities, can enable publishers to present their works at international book fairs. However, this is currently not being done.”
He emphasized: “When we talk about the export of cultural products, we must have works that are in demand on the other side. Today, the world is eager to become more familiar with the works of our classical poets such as Saadi, Hafez, Ferdowsi, and Rumi.”
Tajar Ahmadabadi stated: “The presence of publishers in international conferences will certainly be effective in this field because it introduces Iranian content. If we organize such a conference within the country, many publishers from around the world will travel to Iran to learn more about Iranian culture and art.”
The cultural activist continued: “When the goal is to export cultural content, there should be no division between the public and private sectors. The government must provide the necessary facilities and infrastructure so that publishers can offer their works in international markets and participate in book fairs.”
The director of Qoqnoos Publications pointed out: “By attending international book fairs, publishers can offer their books and sell their copyrights to international publishers, thereby introducing our country’s works to the world.”
