According to Khabaronline News Agency, quoting ISNA, Haruki Murakami, the 76-year-old author residing in Tokyo and a constant candidate for the Nobel Prize, received two honorary awards in Manhattan in recognition of his years of activity as a novelist, translator, critic, and essayist.

The Associated Press wrote that the “Center for Fiction” presented the “Lifetime Achievement Award in Fiction” to Murakami on Tuesday night, an award previously given to Nobel laureates including Toni Morrison and Kazuo Ishiguro. Two days after receiving this award, the “Japan Society” honored Murakami at a ceremony with a “jazz” atmosphere in Town Hall and presented him with its annual award.
