Famous poet and actor at Ahangaran’s wedding

According to the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA), Hossein Panahi, an actor, director, writer, and poet, was born on September 6, 1956, in Dezhkuh village, near the town of Souq in Kohgiluyeh County. After finishing his primary education in 1971 in Behbahan County, he went to a seminary on his father’s advice, and after two years, he worked for a time as a cleric in his birthplace region. However, encountering poverty, suffering, and the problems of the people in the area led him to deep contemplation and eventually caused him to abandon his clerical attire.

After this decision, Panahi experienced a turbulent life. He worked as a teacher in Shushtar for one year, and then pursued various jobs in Ahvaz, including working in a library. He also was active in the cultural sections of the battlefronts during the Iran-Iraq War.

In the photo below, he is present at the wedding ceremony of Sadegh Ahangaran, the eulogist, during the war.
