The peak of brain inflammation has passed

According to a reporter from the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA), Ahmad Mohebbi Ashtiani, a medical graduate and close friend of Reza Amirkhani, explained the latest physical condition of this author: When a fire breaks out in a house in a neighborhood, it starts to damage surrounding systems. The first thing that happens is that firefighters are notified and rush to the scene to extinguish the fire.

He added: It might even affect the normal life of other neighborhoods, and all this is so that the fire can be put out, and this is the main goal and the crisis. For example, nearby shops close, and roads are closed for ordinary people, while those same roads are open for police, firemen, and ambulances, and everything gets disrupted and deviates from normal. Firefighters only think about reaching the source of the fire and putting it out, and many considerations lose their importance. For example, if firefighters need to break several windows, tear down fences and walls, and even collapse a few ceilings in major fires to reach the fire and fulfill their duty, they do these things to extinguish the blaze.

Mohebbi Ashtiani also said: Regarding Reza Amirkhani, a severe blow and injury was inflicted on the brain, causing significant damage. When the immune system activates against primary injuries, it causes injuries to the body itself; brain edema is one of the complications that the immune system performs to do its job. Disruption, immune system activity, and disarray show their effect at one point in the inflammatory system and then subside; that’s why I always emphasized waiting until the fourth and fifth day, because the brain’s nervous system and immune system are at their peak activity on the fourth and fifth day, and until then, secondary complications must be watched, and the entire focus of the medical team is on reducing inflammation and controlling complications.

He emphasized: We have passed the peak point without serious secondary damage, but the immune system is still active, and the disarray has not reached complete calm, and we have not reached stability. We are waiting to reach complete stability in all organs and the entire body and nervous system at an acceptable level of consciousness.

Mohebbi Ashtiani said: We are on a long and gradual process. We must lower our expectations of getting results in one or two days and pray for Amirkhani’s recovery and also for all patients.
