Call for the Twentieth Fajr International Poetry Festival Issued
According to Khabaronline News Agency, quoting the Public Relations of Iran’s House of Book and Literature, the Fajr International Poetry Festival, aiming to promote and elevate contemporary poetry, has hosted the caravan of Persian poetry annually since 2006 (1385 SH). Its 20th edition will be held this winter (1404 SH). This festival, in addition to bringing together prominent contemporary Iranian poets, has been organized with the goal of introducing and recognizing young poets from our beloved country and fostering empathy and linguistic unity among Persian speakers worldwide.
In the main section of this international festival, works will be judged that have been published for the first time in 1403 SH in Persian, with permission from the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, within the country. This section includes four categories: ‘Classic Poetry,’ ‘New Poetry,’ ‘Colloquial Poetry,’ and ‘About Poetry’ (research in the field of poetry). Submissions in this section must be original works, in Persian, and independent poetry collections; therefore, joint collections will not be judged. Additionally, works that have been published in previous years under a different title or with a different publisher, or are selections of previous works, will be excluded from the judging process.
