Workshop on familiarization with book printing and publishing laws will be held in Kurdistan

Masoumeh Hassani Khonsar, in an interview with the correspondent of Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Sanandaj, stated: The workshop on familiarization with book printing and publishing laws will be held by the Directorate General of Public Libraries of Kurdistan Province in cooperation with the Association of Library Development Benefactors and Reading Promotion, with the aim of increasing awareness among authors, researchers, publishing industry activists, and those interested in printing books.

Referring to the educational content of this workshop, she added: In this training course, topics such as familiarization with book printing regulations, author’s rights, as well as rules and procedures for book publication will be reviewed professionally, which can play an effective role in familiarizing cultural activists with legal publishing frameworks.

The Director General of Public Libraries of Kurdistan Province introduced Dr. Omid Rashidi, a faculty member of Islamic Azad University, as the instructor of this workshop, continuing: Utilizing the scientific capacities of university professors in holding such workshops helps improve the quality of training and respond more accurately to the concerns of authors and publishers.

Emphasizing the importance of observing legal and intellectual property rights in the publishing sector, she added: Familiarity with author’s rights and legal regulations for printing and publishing prevents many legal problems in the process of producing and disseminating books and creates a platform for more professional activities in this field.

Hassani Khonsar concluded by inviting those interested to participate in this workshop, stating: The registration deadline for this course has been set for January 1, 2026 [Dey 10, 1404 in Persian calendar], and applicants can register through the announced communication channels.
