Shishegaran’s Variations from Weary Dawn
According to the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA), the book “Shamlou: One Hundred Portraits” includes designs and paintings of Ahmad Shamlou by Behzad Shishegaran, created between 1991 and 2021 [Persian years 1370 to 1400]. The published works of Master Shishegaran are designed based on the idea of “variation.”
In the introduction to this book, Shishegaran writes about this idea: “Today, as a painter and graphic designer with over fifty years of professional experience, I have come to believe that varied design and painting at a reasonable price is one of the important components connecting the artist with society. In this era, with new technologies and an unprecedented increase in the production of design and painting, we are witnessing a transformation in the process of creating works; a transformation that makes works available to people at a reasonable price and provides an opportunity for visual arts to establish a broader connection with society.”
The valuable works published in the book “Shamlou” are presented in an exquisite format, large quarto size, with glossy paper and leather cover, comprising 248 pages. Priced at three million five hundred thousand Tomans, it has been released to the book market by Vazn-e Donya Publishing and is accessible in bookstores and reputable art centers.
