Shahmirzad Book Fair opened with a thousand titles

According to Khabaronline News Agency, Semnan Province branch, the Shahmirzad Book Fair began its activities on Saturday, December 13th, with the presence of Saeed Dehghanlou, Director General of Public Libraries of the province; Hojjatoleslam wal-Muslimin Mohammad Reza Rahimzadeh, Shahmirzad Friday Prayer Leader, and a group of provincial and city officials, welcoming enthusiasts in the field of culture and study.

This cultural event offers over a thousand book titles on various topics, providing a diverse platform to meet different interests, especially for children and teenagers.

During the opening ceremony, the Director General of Public Libraries of Semnan emphasized the fundamental role of reading during childhood, considering the holding of such programs an effective step in shaping the cultural and social personality of the next generation.

Thanking Jabari, the manager of Rasti No Publications, for reopening this exhibition, he said: “This exhibition is a valuable opportunity for citizens to access their favorite books at a small cost without needing long journeys.”

Dehghanlou added, stating that there is a difference between studying and reading: “Studying is deep and comprehensive, but reading is like reviewing and not profound. Therefore, what is important for us is studying books, because studying books polishes human thought coherence.”

The Director General of Public Libraries of Semnan stated, referring to the fact that no tool, including virtual space, can ever take the place of books: “The effects of holding this book exhibition will flow and be current in the lives of everyone who has played a role in its formation.”

Continuing the ceremony, Hojjatoleslam wal-Muslimin Mohammad Reza Rahimzadeh, Shahmirzad Friday Prayer Leader, also emphasized the importance of holding book exhibitions as an effective solution for raising the cultural level of society, adding: “Learning is what fertilizes human reason, and humans need both reason and revelation. Therefore, we need both knowledge and divine revelation, and all our worthy actions will find meaning alongside these two principles. If each of these two are separated from each other, humans will face problems.”

He concluded: “Using visual attractions and media capacity to introduce this event can lead different segments of society toward reading and buying books.”

This exhibition will be held for ten days until December 22, 1404, at the Shahmirzad Children and Young Adults Intellectual Development Center.

Enthusiasts can visit the various booths in both morning and afternoon shifts and benefit from special exhibition discounts.
