According to Khabar Online news agency, Kamran Fani (April 14, 1944, Qazvin – December 12, 2025, Tehran) was one of the unique figures in contemporary Iranian culture; an outstanding author, translator, librarian, manuscript researcher, and bibliographer who dedicated a significant part of his life to organizing knowledge, expanding reference work, and promoting scientific and cultural institutions in the country. He was a permanent member of the Academy of Persian Language and Literature, a faculty member of the Encyclopedia of Shiism, and one of the influential consultants and managers of the National Library of Iran.
