Behind the Scenes and Relationships among Artists and Writers / Volume Two of ‘Jalal Al-e Ahmad’s Daily Notes’ Published
According to Khabaronline News Agency, citing the work’s public relations, Volume Two of ‘Jalal Al-e Ahmad’s Daily Notes’ has been published.
In the introduction to this book, compiled and prepared for print by Mohammad Hossein Danaei, it states:
«At first, I might have kept this diary just because it was fashionable… then it became a burden, a duty, and now I feel it’s a refuge, a shelter for words that cannot be said, or should not be said; words that, if spoken, label you as disrespectful, harsh, weak, or having a thousand other religious or conventional faults. And for this reason, these ramblings are just beginning to find their place and gain authenticity, and so much the better…» (An excerpt from Jalal Al-e Ahmad’s daily notes)
This book, which serves as a transparent record of the country’s intellectual community in the 1950s and 1960s (Solar Hijri decades 1330 and 1340), comprises Jalal Al-e Ahmad’s memoirs from Azar 1337 to Azar 1339 (December 1958 to December 1960) and recounts many of the behind-the-scenes activities of cultural institutions and relationships between contemporary artistic and literary figures, written in the sharp style of this renowned author.
Volume Two of ‘Jalal Al-e Ahmad’s Daily Notes’ has been published by Ettela’at Publishing Institute, and subsequent volumes will be released soon.
