Stabilizing Reza Amirkhani’s Consciousness Level Requires Time

According to KhabarOnline news agency, Ahmad Mohebi Ashtiani announced the latest condition of the author Reza Amirkhani by publishing an audio file on his Telegram channel.

He said:

“I have been asked to provide explanations regarding whether the consciousness level of dear Reza has improved and increased. Today, his treating physician, through an official hospital statement, announced that no change in his condition has been observed. In contrast, witnesses and even some statements from the respected treating physician indicate that signs of increased consciousness have appeared in him. The main question is how to interpret these two viewpoints.

Currently, he is in the acute phase of a coma. Although close relatives and family, during visits to the intensive care unit, have observed signs of increased consciousness, what is important for the physician is the stability of this trend; that is, the patient’s condition should be better every hour compared to the previous hour, progress should have been made today compared to yesterday, and this recovery process should continue stably. In the first days, one cannot speak with certainty about this stability. Although initial signs are promising, experienced physicians, especially at the level of his treating physician’s expertise, never quickly judge such a matter and emphasize the continuity and stability of the recovery process.

Therefore, to provide a definitive opinion, it is necessary for three to four days to pass so that the treating physician can ensure the stability of this trend and provide more hopeful news.

Fortunately, no dangerous symptoms such as active brain hemorrhage, increased intracranial pressure, or brain herniation have been observed so far. These secondary complications are the most important issues that the medical team focuses on controlling and preventing.

Based on this, as mentioned earlier, we must wait a few days with complete hope. The treating physician’s statement can actually be considered positive news. Every hour that dear Reza’s vital signs remain stable and do not worsen, there is hope, and with the passage of time, our hope increases. Our hope is all in God Almighty.”

He concluded by wishing Reza Amirkhani and all patients in the homeland a speedy recovery, saying: “God willing, our prayers will be answered.”
