Mehdi Bakeri in the Heart of Fire, Not Behind the Commander’s Desk
According to KhabarOnline news agency, quoting IBNA, the unveiling ceremony for the book ‘Come and See’; a narration of the life of Brigadier General Martyr ‘Mehdi Bakeri’, is being held today, Tuesday, December 2nd, at the Center for Documentation, Research, and Publication of Sacred Defense Knowledge and the Struggles of the IRGC, with the participation of the esteemed family of Martyr Bakeri, the author of the book, and a group of researchers, scholars, and veterans of the Sacred Defense.
Gholamreza Zarifian, a university professor and narrator of the Sacred Defense era, emphasized the fundamental difference between two key concepts in recording historical events during the unveiling ceremony of the book ‘Come and See’. He said: ‘There is a substantive difference between historiography and historical narration. A historian merely records events, but historical narration is a sublime and scientific stage that brings self-awareness to society and strives to re-examine the past not just for documentation, but for understanding the present and building the future.’
He added: ”Come and See’ is a clear example of historical narration. This work is not merely an epic or rhetorical account; rather, it is a historical and scholarly source that has paid careful attention to both the role of the actors on the scene and the historical contexts and backgrounds. Although it cannot be said to narrate all dimensions of the Islamic Revolution, in its specialized field, it is considered a unique work.’
