Poetry Event ‘Faraghati va Ketabi’ Held in Damghan
According to the correspondent of the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Damghan, the special poetry program ‘Faraghati va Ketabi’ was held at the conference hall of Damghan University, organized by the Damghan County Public Libraries Department in cooperation with the Damghan Municipality and University.
This event was attended by Gholamreza Tariqi, the Friday Imam of Damghan, the Director-General of Public Libraries of Semnan Province, managers of Islamic Guidance of Semnan Province and Damghan County, and a group of prominent Damghan poets, as well as provincial and county officials.
The Director-General of Public Libraries of Semnan Province, during the ceremony, referred to the place of poetry in the province’s culture and stated: ‘This province has historically had a rich and valuable treasury of poets and artists, especially in its culture of poetry.’
Saeed Dehghanloo considered Semnan the cradle for nurturing many poets, scholars, mystics, intellectuals, and literati, and emphasized: ‘The cultural identity of Iran is inextricably linked with the flow of literature and poetry.’
He considered the preservation and protection of the precious heritage of poetry, culture, and art as the mission of cultural institutions and stated: ‘Nothing as much as poetry in the current era can explain the authentic and identity-driven lifestyle of Iranians.’
He added, stating that ‘we must strive to maintain our position in the discussion of poetry and literature by holding such ceremonies,’ that ‘holding these types of programs is essential to explain the position of poetry in the brilliant arena of art and culture of Semnan Province.’
Honoring Gholamreza Tariqi, a poet, and Abolfazl Sadeghinejad, a composer, musician, and veteran in the field of culture and art in Damghan County, was among the parts of this ceremony.
