Arak Writer Shines on Kanun’s Most-Read List

Ehsan Mansouri, in an interview with the correspondent of Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Arak, stated: The books ‘Moushi Adventures 1 and 2,’ written by Katayoon Azarpi, a retired expert from the Center for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults of Markazi province, have been borrowed nearly 20,000 times from Kanun centers across the country in the last three years.

He added: According to the official list extracted from Kanun’s library system, ‘Moushi Adventures 1’ with 10,121 borrowings and ‘Moushi Adventures 2’ with 9,375 borrowings, respectively, ranked second and fourth among the most-read books published by Kanun nationwide.

The Director General of Kanun of Markazi province stated: In the list of Kanun’s 100 most-visited works, 86 are productions of the Center for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults’ publications, which demonstrates the indispensable role of this institution in increasing the per capita reading rate and producing valuable content for children and teenagers.

Mansouri continued: The Center for Intellectual Development operates with 1052 fixed, mobile urban and rural centers, and postal libraries throughout the country, and Markazi province, with 51 centers, has always been one of the active provinces in promoting the culture of books and reading.

While commending the efforts of the province’s literati, he said: Successes of this kind indicate that the literary capacities of Markazi province require further attention and support, and Kanun will be ready to support authors and producers of cultural content in this field.
