Iranian translators in this period were not just carriers of meaning, but creators of the language of thought. Today, however, the world of translation is rapidly transforming: software programs quickly translate sentences with astonishing accuracy, but is this speed the same as understanding?

At a time when the distinction between translation and re-reading of thought has faded, I went to Fouad Habibi, a faculty member of Kurdistan University, and a writer and translator in the field of philosophy and political thought, to ask him about the relationship between knowledge, language, and the translator’s responsibility in the new era.
