Women’s Cosmetic Interventions in the Arena of Jurisprudence and Law
According to the Mobalegh’s Fikr va Farhang website, in the arena between the innate desire for beauty and adherence to Sharia, women’s cosmetic interventions have become one of the most complex and prevalent jurisprudential and legal issues of our era.
As reported by Ijtehad Network, for the first time, this book provides a comprehensive and ijtihadi (inferential) answer to this challenge by compiling and comparatively analyzing the views of all contemporary Shiite and Sunni jurists. By examining the evidence of proponents and opponents, it deeply investigates various surgical and non-surgical interventions, including eyebrow and eyelash transplantation.
The main innovation of this work is the justification of the permissibility of most of these interventions through a robust and argumentative method. Simultaneously, the author intelligently draws a precise line between legitimate ‘beautification’ (tajmil) and illegitimate ‘altering of creation’ (taghyir khaliq), and argues for its prohibition for those suffering from body dysmorphic disorder.
This work serves as a reference and guiding resource for jurists, legal scholars, physicians, and all women and girls seeking clear and well-reasoned answers in this field.
Furthermore, this book has been published in 612 pages in Vaziri (ministerial) format. Academics, university professors, seminary students, and university students can refer to the bookstore of the Ahlul Bayt Jurisprudential Center Publications in Qom or Mashhad to acquire this work.
It is worth noting that ‘Hokm Vaz’i’ (252 pages) and ‘Restoration of Virginity from the Perspective of Jurisprudence and Law’ (484 pages) are other works by this seminary researcher published by the Ahlul Bayt Jurisprudential Center Publications.
