Book City of Zahedan, the gem of creative reading activities.

According to the reporter of Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) from Zahedan, Davood Sayyad, in a meeting and conversation with the head of the Book City complex in Zahedan, stated: Promotional activities in the field of books should be defined in accordance with today’s social life, and any activity that does not pay attention to this important issue will not be very effective.

He added: The general life of people, especially the younger generation, has its own special requirements, and it is gratifying to see that the Book City complex defines its activities in accordance with this style.

The Deputy of Cultural and Media Affairs of the General Directorate of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Sistan and Baluchestan, referring to the inauguration and start of operation of ‘Book City Cafe’ alongside the previous cultural complex, stated: Whether we accept it or not, a part of the life hours of today’s generation is spent in cafes, and creative activities such as book introduction shelves by three groups of educated and intellectual people, custodians, and book-reading customers, are part of the targeted impacts of this complex.

Sayyad stated: Dedicating cafe tables to the names of luminaries, authors, elites, famous poets, and writers, and easy access via mobile phone to short selected sections of their works while ordering, is another valuable initiative that not only introduces authors and luminaries but also provides access to their works.

He further emphasized, while appreciating the responsible cooperation of Book City in book-related activities: This complex has played an unparalleled role in promoting reading in recent years by hosting book promotion activities such as book launches, book reviews, and author signing ceremonies.

Sayyad listed effective communication with the country’s reading promotion community and book readers, both at the provincial and city levels, as another success factor for this complex and said: I appreciate the seriousness, follow-up, and responsible cooperation of Mr. Ansari, the director of this institution, especially in organizing collaborative programs, and I hope that, as in the past, Book City will remain a gathering place for book enthusiasts.
