Mohammad Hossein Ketabchi Passed Away
According to the correspondent of the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Karaj, Mohammad Hossein Ketabchi, who had been active for years in the fields of research, writing, and poetry and was known by his literary name Olumi Tabrizi, passed away after a period of illness and due to old age.
Ketabchi was considered one of the influential figures in contemporary literature, and his works in the field of poetry and literary research have been noted by enthusiasts of Persian literature. Many cultural and literary figures recognize his discreet personality, scholarly perspective, and intimate language in his works as distinguishing features of this poet and writer.
The Director-General of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Alborz Province issued a condolence message following the passing of Alborz’s poet, writer, and researcher, Master Mohammad Hossein Ketabchi (Olumi Tabrizi).
The text of the message from the Director-General of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Alborz states:
The passing of Master Mohammad Hossein Ketabchi (Olumi Tabrizi), an esteemed poet, writer, and researcher, caused deep sorrow in the cultural and literary community of the country. The deceased was one of the prominent figures in devotional and classical poetry and left behind valuable works in praise of the Fourteen Infallibles (peace be upon them) and moral and mystical reflections.
Master Ketabchi dedicated his fruitful life to the advancement of the Persian language and the promotion of religious and humanistic ideas. His effective presence in the cultural and artistic circles of Alborz Province has left a lasting legacy.
I extend my condolences to his esteemed family, students, and lovers of Persian literature, and I ask Almighty God for divine mercy and blessing for the late master and patience and reward for the bereaved.
In addition to his activities in poetry and research, the late Olumi Tabrizi wrote numerous literary and cultural works and was a recognized and influential figure in the cultural life of Alborz Province, especially Fardis County.
