Activity of 76 Public Libraries in Alborz Province / Presence of 69 Thousand Members
Ali Ma’dani Pour, in an interview with the correspondent of Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Karaj, referring to the holding of over 500 cultural and educational programs during Book Week with the slogan ‘Let’s Read for Iran,’ said: These programs include book reading sessions, play reading, book review and unveiling sessions, storytelling for children’s groups, educational workshops, and book exhibitions.
He noted that currently, 76 public libraries with a total area of over 28,000 square meters are active in Alborz Province, adding that approximately 69,000 people are members of these libraries.
In another part, the Director General of Public Libraries of Alborz Province stated: Today, libraries are not just places for study, but have transformed into hubs for dialogue, deliberation, and the formation of social connections.
Ma’dani Pour also mentioned the operation of five mobile libraries that provide services in over 40 rural and urban areas lacking libraries, describing this initiative as a practical manifestation of cultural justice.
