Implementation of a Book Discount Scheme in Rasht Bookstores

According to a reporter from the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Rasht, Ilia Cafe Book, Farazmand Bookstore, and Ordibehesht Bookstore in Rasht have launched a book discount scheme for lovers of the ‘kind companion’ (books) concurrently with Book and Book Reading Week.

Under this scheme, book lovers can purchase their favorite books with 15% and 20% discounts.

The 33rd edition of the Book Week of the Islamic Republic of Iran, with the slogan ‘Let’s Read for Iran’, is currently being held from November 14 to 20. The names for the days of this week include November 14: Book and Book Reading Day; November 15: Quran, the Prophet of Kindnesses, and Fatemi Culture; November 16: Book and New Publishing Technologies; November 17: Student and University Book Day; November 18: Book Day of Empathy, Deliberation, and Development; November 19: Book Wandering Day; and November 20: Book and Family Day.

Farazmand Bookstore is one of the long-standing bookstores in Gilan and has received the award for the best independent bookstore in the country at the fifth ‘Fereshteh Book Festival’ on the theme of ‘Road’.

Ilia Culture Publishing Office and the House of Book and Culture Ilia Cultural-Artistic Institute are also popular cultural centers in Rasht. By establishing Ilia Cafe Book as a cultural hub for book and culture enthusiasts in Gilan, they host a series of gatherings titled ‘Cultural Evenings’ with approaches such as book launches, story readings, book reviews, musical work analyses, and play readings.

Ordibehesht Bookstore in Rasht, by providing a three-story cultural complex including sections for book sales, stationery, cultural and artistic items, and a cafe, is also a favorite spot for book lovers and reading enthusiasts.

There are approximately 170 active bookstores in Gilan province that always actively participate in various book sales and distribution programs.
