8 Book Titles Unveiled in Sari
According to the correspondent of Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Sari, the books ‘When Maajan Was a Midwife’ by Ruhollah Mehdipour Omrani, ‘Golestan-e Ata’ volumes one and two by Ataollah Reskati, ‘Piano’ by Shaban Zalikani, ‘Penamaz’ and ‘Shovar’ by Sultan Shokouhi, ‘From Conflict to Effective Dialogue with Teenagers’ by Marion Lynn and translated by a group of translators, and ‘Literary Criticism and Cinema’ by Mehdi Mashayekhi were unveiled at the Mazandaran Book Fair.
At this ceremony, the authors presented explanations about their books.
Narrator of Folk Culture Legends
The author of the book ‘When Maajan Was a Midwife’ said about this work: ‘This book contains remnants of my childhood memories, in which I tried to depict a part of the mindset of the grandmother’s generation, far from fantasy.’
Ruhollah Mehdipour Omrani added: ‘Folk culture is one of my interests, and a part of Mazandaran’s folk culture is also shaped by legends that have been very interesting.’
He emphasized: ‘In this book, as an author, I have tried to be merely the narrator of these legends.’
A Book on Islamic Knowledge
Continuing the program, the author of the book ‘Golestan-e Ata’ explained about his work: ‘This book is a work on Islamic knowledge.’
Ataollah Reskati, referring to the importance of the pen, said: ‘When God swears by the pen, it shows the importance of the pen, and we must know that it is better for a poisoned pen not to write.’
An Effort to Preserve the Mother Tongue
Sultan Shokouhi, the poet of the two books ‘Penamaz’ and ‘Shovar,’ which were unveiled at this ceremony, considered the publication of these two works an effort to preserve the mother tongue and stated: ‘Within the framework of the Tabarestan Association, we try to preserve the mother tongue of our land through Tabari poetry and stories.’
In another part of this program, the author of the book ‘Piano’ explained about his work: ‘Today’s story is about infrastructures, and a writer who cannot take himself to this path, it is better if he stops.’
Shaban Zalikani continued: ‘A story is a short slice of life, and we do not write stories, but stories narrate us.’
He added: ‘Story is the mother of all arts, and art speaks the language of story.’
Zalikani said: ‘The book ‘Piano’ is a collection of 21 stories and has tried to be narrated in contemporary language.’
The Link Between Critic and Cinema with the Book ‘Literary Criticism and Cinema’
Mehdi Mashayekhi, the author of the book ‘Literary Criticism and Cinema,’ explained about his work: ‘In this work, an effort has been made to address the gap between literary criticism and critic with cinema.’
At the end of this ceremony, with the presence of the Director General of Culture and Islamic Guidance, these works were unveiled, and the authors and publishers of these works were also appreciated.
