Unity of the Nation Party Warns About the Future of Governments in the Age of Artificial Intelligence / Khaniki: Reforms are Harder Than Revolutionary Struggle; Power Has Shifted From Control to Communications

According to Khabaronline news agency, the recent meeting of the Education Committee of the Unity of the Nation Party was dedicated to the critique and review of the book ‘The Fate of the State’ written by Seyed Mohammad Reza Motaghi; a book that tries to re-examine the position of governments in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the increasing role of artificial intelligence. Hadi Khaniki and Motaghi attempted to present a picture of the future of governance, politics, and the role of civil society in this session; a future that is not far from today and whose pace of change is breathtaking.

As reported by Hammihan, Hadi Khaniki, a professor of communication sciences, emphasized in this session that the new wave of technology has not only transformed economy and industry but has also changed the foundations of political power. He stated: ‘In today’s networked society, power is not exercised through force; it flows through communications. Governments can no longer maintain the old order with borders, official media, or filtering.’
