«Book and Life Festival» Kicks Off in Mashhad
According to the reporter of Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Mashhad, Amin Mohammadzadeh, the founder of «Bahar Book Bank», on the sidelines of this festival, stated that this book sales center started its activities in 2008. He said: This year, on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of this bookstore’s establishment, we decided to launch a book tour program specifically for schools, coinciding with the 33rd Book Week of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He added: Every year during Book Week, we used to hold small book exhibitions in schools, but due to the lack of sufficient space and facilities for holding book exhibitions in schools, this year it was decided to turn the void of an international book fair in Mashhad into an opportunity and organize this exhibition ourselves.
A Creative Approach to the «Book and Life Festival»
Mohammadzadeh announced the title of this exhibition as «Book and Life Festival» and stated: This book exhibition, which has been organized with a creative approach, started on the first day of Book Week in cooperation with Mashhad’s District 7 Education Department. In addition to the book exhibition, it will feature various book-centered events such as meetings with author teachers and Mashhadi students.
Book-Centered Programs
He added: Holding book competitions is another program of the «Book and Life Festival». Literary and scientific talent discovery is also another cultural event on the sidelines of this festival, aiming to have a vibrant event during Book Week.
Mohammadzadeh said: The students visiting this festival are at an age full of excitement and energy. We made every effort to provide a positive response to their excitement and mental/emotional capacity during their visit to this exhibition. On the other hand, we tried to consider the tastes of most students with diverse events and organize cultural programs with a comprehensive approach.
The founder of Bahar Book Bank, referring to the fact that works from Mashhadi publishers are displayed and offered for sale at this exhibition, said: Most of the publishers whose works are offered at this exhibition are those who specialize in the field of children, youth, and students, and they are also experienced publishers such as «Behnashr», «Zarih Aftab», and «Madreseh». We tried to cover all tastes in this value chain created in cooperation with District 7 Education Department.
Mohammadzadeh emphasized: So far, the exhibition has been well-received, and the approach of education department managers towards these events is also positive. I believe this festival is a good middle ground and model that responds well to the needs of students. Our approach in this cultural event is also participatory and interactive.
According to IBNA; the Valiasr Cultural and Educational Center is located at Falahi 30, Fatemieh 16. This exhibition welcomes book lovers every day, morning and evening.
