According to Khabaronline News Agency, quoting Etela’at Online, Shirali Muslumov (1805-1973) was a Talysh shepherd from Qajar Iran and the former Soviet Union. It is claimed that this man experienced the longest life in several centuries, living for 168 years and 160 days.

He was from Barzavoo village in Lerik county – a mountainous region near the Iranian border – and died in 1975 at the age of 168. Shirali Muslumov married 3 times and had 23 children. His name was recorded in the Guinness Book for the longest-living individual ever. The newspaper Etela’at published a photo of Shirali Muslumov with his grandchildren in its editor’s archive section on November 16, 1975.
