The effectiveness of Book Week is strengthened with public participation
The Culture and Publishing Service of the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA), Babak Abedin, on the sidelines of a visit to IBNA, congratulated the 19th anniversary of this specialized media and said: IBNA, over 19 years of activity, has transformed from a mere news agency into a specialized and reputable reference in the cultural, economic, and publishing industry of the country.
He continued: This media not only covers news but also provides specialized analyses and is considered a reference by both the private and public sectors. The important point is that IBNA has maintained its authenticity in this path and now holds a significant position in the country’s publishing landscape.
Abedin emphasized the necessity of special attention to cyberspace and the digitalization of this media, stating: Content should no longer be limited solely to text; podcasts, videos, and social networks are good opportunities for expanding IBNA’s activities.
He also considered international development and making the news agency multilingual (Arabic and English) as another important path and added: IBNA can become an international reference in the field of printing and publishing and attract an audience from the global community. In my opinion, IBNA has now become a reference for the printing industry, and I hope this will be a model for other news agencies to pay special attention to the discussion of the printing industry and the broader printing industry.
IBNA is a specialized reference.
He, by proposing that IBNA can act as a specialized international reference for cultural diplomacy and that an active presence in the global arena will enhance the image of Iran’s printing and publishing industry, said: The voice of Iran’s printing industry is conveyed to officials and domestic and foreign audiences through IBNA, and this is its unique feature.
According to the head of the Tehran Printers and Bookbinders Union, IBNA can become a specialized international reference for cultural diplomacy in the cultural field, namely books, printing, and publishing. The issue is that the field of printing has been almost overlooked in all news agencies, and the only specialized reference that has paid special attention to printing over the past 15-16 years has been IBNA. The Book News Agency continuously conveys the voice of printing to both audiences and officials.
Abedin also spoke about Book Week and the importance of it, saying: Book Week has become a sustainable process over the years, but for greater effectiveness, public participation, especially in schools, needs to be developed. Also, if various unions and guilds get involved, this week will turn into a continuous movement throughout the year and keep the motivation for reading books alive among the community.
