Condolence message from the Minister of Culture following the passing of Abolghasem Faghiri, a veteran researcher of our country.
According to Iran Book News Agency (IBNA), the text of the condolence message from Seyyed Abbas Salehi is as follows:
“The passing of Professor Abolghasem Faghiri, a veteran researcher of people’s culture and a writer who dedicated many years of his life to understanding and preserving the cultural identity of our beloved Iran and Fars province, caused sorrow and regret.
His works and research are not just a collection of writings, but a part of the living memory of a people whose rituals, narratives, words, and lived world were saved from oblivion thanks to the efforts of the deceased and recorded in the contemporary history of this land’s culture.
Professor Faghiri was among the researchers who pursued his work with a concern for authenticity and respect for cultural roots; he bore a mission to faithfully and accurately convey the tone, beliefs, and life of his people to future generations.
I extend my condolences for the loss of this esteemed figure to his respectable family, students, culture enthusiasts, the scientific and literary community of the country, and especially to the dear people of Fars province. I ask Almighty God for mercy and tranquility for his noble soul, and for patience and reward for his survivors.”
