Book Week at Sarzamin Ketab Bookstore in Gorgan / Seven Diverse Events for the Public

Sami Azadradd, events manager of Sarzamin Ketab Bookstore, in an interview with a reporter from IBNA news agency in Gorgan, stated that book-centered events and programs are not merely gatherings for introducing books or assembling literati; rather, they are cultural driving forces that can steer society towards reading, thinking, and dialogue. He announced that to mark Book Week, Sarzamin Ketab Bookstore plans to hold a series of seven cultural and artistic events with the presence of authors, translators, poets, and cultural figures.

He further added that their goal is to expand the culture of reading, create an interactive space between audiences and authors, and strengthen the reading movement in society. These events will commence on the evening of November 14th and continue until November 20th, every night from 6 PM. They believe that organizing such gatherings and events provides an opportunity for books to be not just a cultural commodity, but a lived and shared experience among people.

Azadradd, while inviting all interested individuals, said: A literary adaptation workshop will be held under the supervision of Hiva Mohajer and Behnoush Shabani on the evening of Saturday, November 14th, at 6 PM at the bookstore (Gorgan, Lashkar Street, next to Lashkar 2).

He added that in the coming nights, they will host citizens with a poetry night and live music performance by Azha Group, history reading and Shahnameh reading with Ali Afkhami, ‘The Book That Changed Your Life’ presented by Hanieh Mohajer, a meeting with Niki Nasiri, translator of works by influential Japanese author Osamu Dazai, and a chat with Bahar Hojjati, author of the book ‘Norgun’.

Azadradd also mentioned that by decision of the management, the store’s books will be offered with a 20% discount for lovers of book culture and reading.

He concluded by referring to the numerous and diverse book-centered events held since the beginning of the year by Sarzamin Ketab Bookstore, with the presence of national and provincial guests and a good reception from interested individuals. He stated that honoring and recognizing these individuals not only encourages and sustains their activities but also illuminates society’s attention to the hidden and persistent efforts that form the foundation for the advancement of reading culture. He also reiterated that book-centered events not only provide a platform for introducing new works and ideas but also act as an influential medium for promoting reading, shaping the cultural taste of society, and honoring the efforts of cultural figures.
