Oral History of Commander Mohammad Hassan Mohagheghi in the Run-up to Publication
Javad Kalateh Arabi, manager of Nashr 27 Be’sat, told the reporter of Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) about the process of documenting the oral history of Commander Mohammad Hassan Mohagheghi: The oral history of Commander Mohammad Hassan Mohagheghi was conducted by Hossein Behzad over approximately 50 sessions during 2014 and 2015. The Commander’s oral history begins from his childhood and birth in Rafsanjan, Kerman province, and continues until the end of the Sacred Defense era, when he held responsibility as a commander of one of the 27th Division’s brigades.
He added: This structure, from birth to the end of the Sacred Defense, is a consistent and common pattern for compiling the oral memoirs of Sacred Defense combatants, which has also been followed in this work. Following Commander Mohagheghi’s martyrdom, we concluded that it is necessary to also address the Commander’s activities during the post-imposed war period.
The manager of Nashr 27 Be’sat, referring to the documentation of Commander Mohagheghi’s post-imposed war activities, stated: We endeavored to collect memoirs from his colleagues, friends, and comrades and include them in a separate section of the book. These memoirs relate to Commander Mohagheghi’s period of responsibility in the 27th Division (as head of staff), as well as his service in the Sarallah Base and the IRGC Intelligence Organization. For this section, we conducted interviews with several of his colleagues and comrades, highlighting some of their memories and activities related to his post-imposed war period.
Kalateh Arabi detailed the stages of compiling and publishing Commander Mohagheghi’s oral history book, stating: The first part of the book, comprising the Commander’s oral history, is currently in the rewriting phase. The second part of the book, dedicated to the memoirs of Commander Mohagheghi’s comrades and colleagues from the post-Sacred Defense period, is presently being written. We are co-authoring this book with Masoumeh Zahrakar, and our aim is for the final compilation to be completed before the end of the [current] year or prior to the 2025 book fair, making the work ready for publication.
The oral history book of Commander Mohammad Hassan Mohagheghi is being compiled by Javad Kalateh Arabi and Masoumeh Zahrakar and will be published by Nashr 27 Be’sat.
