The Necessity of Storytelling in the Post-War Era to Record the Living Memory of the Nation

Mehr News Agency, Provinces Group: Ali Hashemi, a writer in the field of the Holy Defense, stated in an interview with a Mehr correspondent: “Storytelling in the post-war era is necessary and essential to record the living memory of the nation.”

The Holy Defense writer added: “Any event throughout history that is not recorded will be forgotten, and if the veterans of the Holy Defense do not speak today about the atmosphere of the war and combat, others will narrate it in their own way.”

Stating that the opportunity must be seized and these memories and narratives must not be allowed to perish, he said: “These memories are an inexhaustible treasure that must be left as a legacy for the next generation.”

Hashemi emphasized that the era of the Holy Defense was an era full of heroism and honor, saying: “The values of the Holy Defense and the culture of sacrifice and martyrdom must not be allowed to fade in society.”

He added: “The essence of the war is what exists in the hearts of each and every combatant—the same pure memories that occurred in operations and war zones.”

This Holy Defense writer pointed out that everywhere in the world, the memories and history of wars are preserved as the identity of that nation, and said: “We too must record the oral history of the war in the best possible way by supporting the writers in this field.”
