Mehrgan Literary Award Winners Introduced and Honored

The winners of the Mehrgan Adab Literary Award were introduced and honored in a ceremony, recognizing outstanding works in Persian fiction and children’s literature.

According to IBNA, the jury for the Mehrgan Adab Literary Award announced its selections for the 22nd and 23rd periods. In the adult fiction category, Mehrdad Ghasedan’s novel “The House of the Blind” was selected as the winner for the 22nd period.

The jury also commended Mohammad Tolouei for his novel “The Year of the Elephant” and Reza Amirkhani for “Candidate” (or “Kandelous”) in the same category for their significant contributions.

In the special section for children and young adult literature, Narges Kiani’s “The Seventh Day of Winter” and Mahsa Mohebali’s “The Dream of the Fish” received recognition for their valuable contributions to this genre, highlighting impactful stories for younger readers.

The Mehrgan Literary Award aims to promote literary excellence and encourage creative writing among Iranian authors. The event celebrated the achievements of these writers and their impactful contributions to contemporary Persian literature, fostering a vibrant literary culture.
