First Serbian-language guide on Iran unveiled at Belgrade Book Fair

TEHRAN (IBNA) – The first comprehensive guide on Iran in the Serbian language, titled “Serbia-Iran: History, Culture, Economy,” was unveiled at the 66th Belgrade International Book Fair.

The book, authored by Dr. Marija Stanković and published by the Iranian Cultural Center in Belgrade, offers a deep insight into various aspects of Iran, from its ancient history and rich culture to its contemporary economy and social dynamics.

The unveiling ceremony was attended by Iranian Ambassador to Serbia, Rashid Hassanpour, and the head of Iran’s Cultural Center, Amir Pourpezeshk, along with numerous Serbian cultural figures and enthusiasts of Iranian studies.

Ambassador Hassanpour highlighted the importance of such cultural initiatives in strengthening bilateral ties and fostering mutual understanding between the two nations. He emphasized that the guide serves as a valuable resource for Serbian readers interested in exploring Iran beyond common stereotypes and gaining a nuanced perspective.

Dr. Stanković, during her speech, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to a deeper understanding of Iran among Serbian speakers and hoped the book would facilitate further academic and cultural exchanges.
