Sixty Seconds with North Khorasan: From Billions in Book Sales to the Three-Thousand Martyrdom Congress
IRNA – Bojnord – North Khorasan, with its abundant cultural and literary potential, is currently hosting important events. Recent reports indicate unprecedented book sales figures in the province, demonstrating a growth in reading culture. According to statistics released by the provincial Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance, over one billion Tomans worth of books were sold in North Khorasan bookstores during the first six months of the current year. This figure shows a significant increase compared to the same period last year.
Furthermore, the organizing committee of the National Congress of Three Thousand Martyrs of North Khorasan Province outlined the latest preparations for this major cultural and religious event. The congress, aimed at commemorating the esteemed status of martyrs and explaining the values of sacrifice and martyrdom, will include diverse programs such as the unveiling of new books, photo and art exhibitions, and specialized seminars.
The Director-General of Culture and Islamic Guidance of North Khorasan Province stated in this regard: “We have made every effort to promote reading culture and support local authors. The increase in book sales indicates the success of these programs. Additionally, the Congress of Three Thousand Martyrs will be an opportunity to introduce the province’s cultural and religious values to the younger generation.”
