All National Award Judges Are Also Librarians’ Readers
Tehran – IRNA – The Head of the Iranian Library and Information Science Association said: All judges of the “Ham-Khan” National Award are librarians themselves.
Hamidreza Ebrahimzadeh stated on Thursday in an interview with IRNA reporter regarding the holding of the “Ham-Khan” National Award for the fifth consecutive term: This award is held for five consecutive years, and one of the important issues is that all the judges of the award are selected from among the faculty members of librarianship and information science.
He added: The main goal of this award is to promote the culture of reading non-textbook books among people, especially among children and teenagers. We are looking to identify and introduce good books in various fields and encourage people to read them.
Ebrahimzadeh, referring to the judging criteria, said: Books nominated for this award must be reviewed in terms of content, writing style, illustration (for children’s and young adult books), and their impact on the audience.
The Head of the Iranian Library and Information Science Association emphasized: The role of librarians in promoting reading culture is very vital, and this award is an opportunity for their efforts to be seen and introduced to society.
