IRNA Yazd Night Watch: From the Unveiling of the Book ‘Asemanian’ to the Arrest of Thieves
Yazd – IRNA – The unveiling of the book ‘Asemanian’, the arrest of car parts thieves, and the discovery of smuggled goods worth 45 billion rials are among the most important short news items from Yazd province on Monday.
The book ‘Asemanian’ was unveiled in Yazd in the presence of a group of officials and the esteemed families of martyrs and veterans.
According to an IRNA correspondent, this 400-page book, penned by Seyed Hossein Dashti, has been published by Setaregan-e Asemani Publications. It chronicles the biographies and memories of 40 revered martyrs of the Imam Hossein (AS) Battalion from Taft county during the Sacred Defense era.
The Police Commander of Yazd province announced the arrest of thieves of car parts and contents with 31 counts of theft in the city of Yazd.
Brigadier General Abbasali Behdani Fard added: Following several incidents of theft of parts and contents from inside vehicles in Yazd city, the investigation of the matter was placed on the agenda of the officers of Abu Dhar Police Station 14.
He stated: Officers, with their round-the-clock efforts and by employing police tactics, identified a professional thief and, after coordinating with the judicial authority, arrested him in a surprise operation.
The Police Commander of Yazd province continued: The accused confessed to 31 counts of theft of car parts and contents with the cooperation of an accomplice.
Behdani Fard noted: In this operation, the thief’s accomplice was also arrested and, along with the main accused, was handed over to the judicial authorities after the case was filed.
He also reported the seizure of smuggled goods worth 45 billion rials in the province.
The Police Commander of Yazd province stated: In line with the resolute and continuous fight against the sinister phenomenon of smuggling, which targets the country’s economy, officers from the Economic Security Police of the province seized 18 vehicles carrying smuggled goods while monitoring the connecting roads of the province.
He added: In the inspection of these vehicles, various smuggled goods were discovered, including home appliances, clothing, cosmetics and hygiene products, food items, and car accessories.
Behdani Fard, stating that the value of the discovered goods was determined by experts to be 45 billion rials, said: In this regard, 18 smugglers were arrested and handed over to the judicial authorities.
