Fani, the Humble Scientist of Iran’s Scientific and Library Foundations

According to the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA), quoting the Public Relations and Information Center of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, the text of Seyyed Abbas Salehi’s message of condolence is as follows:

“The news of the passing of Professor Kamran Fani, researcher, translator, prominent librarian, and continuous member of the Academy of Persian Language and Literature, caused regret and sorrow.”

“The late Fani was one of the thinkers who devoted his life with humility and precision to organizing knowledge, promoting written culture, and strengthening the country’s scientific and library foundations.”

“His effective role in reference research, encyclopedic activities, and training generations of book people and researchers has created a lasting position for Professor Fani’s name in the history of Iranian culture.”

“I offer my condolences for this loss to the esteemed family of the late professor, colleagues, students, and the scientific and cultural community of the country, and I ask the Almighty God for divine mercy and forgiveness for the deceased and patience, peace, and tolerance for the survivors.”
