A Bibliographer Who Dedicated His Wisdom to Iran’s Literary Dynamism

According to the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA), the message of condolence from the head of the Academy of Persian Language and Literature states:

“In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Professor Kamran Fani, author, translator, librarian, encyclopedist, and associate member of the Academy of Persian Language and Literature, passed away after a period of illness. His loss caused grief and sorrow among his professors, researchers, colleagues, and admirers at the Academy. He was an expert bibliographer, a precise translator, an editor, a sharp-eyed researcher, and a scholar passionate about books, reading, and knowledge. He had mastery over various aspects of Iranian and Islamic culture and civilization, and he humbly and generously dedicated his knowledge and wisdom to the scientific, literary, and cultural dynamism of Iran and the nation’s scientific and cultural institutions, such as the Academy of Persian Language and Literature and the National Archives and Library Organization of Iran.

Honoring his valuable services to the Academy of Persian Language and Literature, I extend my condolences on the passing of this learned professor to the country’s scientific and literary community and his esteemed family members. I pray to the kind Lord for forgiveness and peace for his soul.”
