People of Khamir bought 1.5 billion rials worth of books at the book exhibition
Ehsan Rezaei, speaking to a reporter from the Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Bandar Abbas, expressed pleasure at the public reception of the Bandar Khamir book exhibition, stating: “Simultaneously with Thursday night (December 20th), as the book exhibition concluded, book sales at this exhibition were announced to be 1.5 billion rials.”
The Head of the Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Jahan-shahr Talabi Bandar Khamir continued: “This amount of books was sold at the exhibition from December 10th to December 20th, a period of 10 days, equivalent to one thousand volumes of books.”
He added: “This exhibition was held in the traditional Gap market hall of Bandar Khamir through the efforts of Bandar Khamir Municipality, the Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Khamir County, the Cultural Deputy of the General Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Hormozgan Province, Payame Noor University, Khamir County Charitable Association, Sayyan Art School, the Governorate, the Department of Industry, Mines and Trade of Khamir, the Department of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism of the County, Basij Resistance Area, guilds, and also literary, artistic, and cinematic associations under the umbrella of the Culture and Islamic Guidance Department of Khamir County.”
According to Ibna, the historical port of Khamir is the largest settlement adjacent to Khorkhoran Lagoon, the largest marine lagoon in the Middle East and possessing Iran’s most extensive mangrove forests. Iran’s first lagoon city is one of the beautiful cities in Hormozgan Province, located 95 kilometers southwest of Bandar Abbas and 110 kilometers east of Bandar Lengeh, and serves as the center of Khamir County.
