The Story of Two Sisters Who Brought Books to Baluchistan Villages
Provinces Service of Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) – Abdolghader Baloch, book promoter of Chabahar county, Vashnam Dari book-loving village: Zeinab, a first-grade teacher, transformed lessons into a celebration of learning every day with creativity and initiative. She not only thought about education but also harbored the dream of a library; a library that could introduce village children to the vast world of thought and imagination.
Her efforts finally bore fruit. First, a small but brightly lit library was built in Gaboulani, and then in Kalbar, with the help of friends and gifts from Mahboubeh Najafkhani, a renowned translator of children’s and young adult literature, another library took shape. Over a hundred books were donated by her to this library, and her name adorned its facade; the Mahboubeh Najafkhani Library opened a new window to the world for the children of Kalbar.
Maryam, a capable secretary who, with a love for books and lessons, stood by her sister and transformed simple classrooms into beacons of thought. With a deep passion for reading, she invited students into the world of study and inquiry. But it was Zeinab who relentlessly pursued the library and made the dream of the village children a reality.
Today, these two sisters, alongside the school principal, light a lamp of books and reading every day. They organize various programs in the field of study and introduce children to a new experience of learning. Their libraries are not just shelves of books, but gardens of hope and knowledge; gardens that have blossomed in the heart of Dashtiari and Kalbar villages.
Zeinab and Maryam Bandad, with their loving steps, showed that teaching is not just a profession; it is a mission to illuminate the path to the future. With love and sacrifice, they wrote a small but significant history in Baluchistan’s culture; a history that states even in the most remote villages, education can become a spark for change.
