When Poetry Overshadows Politics
Hossein Jabrian Ansari, a diplomat and translator, says that Iranian society is intertwined with poetry and literature; to the extent that some analysts believe this very poetic spirit has led to shortcomings in intellectual and political spheres. According to him, the Iranian mind unconsciously moves towards that poetic outlook; an outlook like ‘Sit by the stream and watch life pass by.’
