Document/Warning from the Ministry of Education to Sa’id Nafisi regarding his dual employment, year 1314
According to Khabar Online News Agency, the Central Library of Tehran University recently published a document, a letter dated 1314 (1935) from the Ministry of Education addressed to Sa’id Nafisi, a prominent linguist and researcher of Persian literature. In this letter, the Ministry warned him that, in accordance with the regulations of the University Establishment Law and the prohibition of holding two simultaneous jobs, he must resign from his position at the newspaper ‘Journal de Téhéran’ to continue teaching at the Faculty of Literature.

Since, according to Note 2 of Article 2 of the regulations for implementing the University Establishment Law, individuals subject to university regulations cannot be employed in government departments or domestic or foreign institutions without written permission from the Ministry of Education, and you, without observing legal regulations, have participated in the newspaper ‘Journal de Téhéran’ and are officially working, therefore you are warned that if you wish to continue your teaching in the Faculty of Literature and maintain your professorship, you must refrain from working at the newspaper and exclusively dedicate your time to studying and preparing lessons for the said Faculty. Finally, it is stated that you should inform the Ministry of your decision in this regard as soon as possible so that appropriate instructions can be issued concerning the academic affairs of the Faculty of Literature.
