From Misreading History to Stubbornly Reading History

According to the correspondent of Iran’s Book News Agency (IBNA), the book ‘From Misreading History to Stubbornly Reading History; A Reactive Reading of History and Its Shortcomings’ written by Abdolmohammad Kazemipour was published by Agar Publishing.

Contemporary Iran has two narratives of history: one that rewrites the past to justify today’s power; and another that, in stubborn defiance of the first, sees everything in reverse of the first narrative. For fifty years, Iranians have eagerly delved into contemporary history, but have been caught in the struggle between these two narratives.

The author of this book names these two narratives, respectively, ‘misreading’ and ‘stubborn reading’ of history, and takes the reader on a journey into the heart of narratives and interpretations – a journey that seeks to unveil misinterpretations, simplifications, and reactive viewpoints, challenge the fundamental concepts we use in interpreting contemporary history, and propose new concepts. This book is an invitation to escape the dominion of these two narratives and to face the reality of history truthfully: the history of yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

The book ‘From Misreading History to Stubbornly Reading History; A Reactive Reading of History and Its Shortcomings’ written by Abdolmohammad Kazemipour, in 231 pages and priced at 395,000 Tomans, was published by Agar Publishing.
