Abulfazl Jalili’s book ‘Stories That Were Not Screened’ Unveiled

According to Iran Book News Agency (IBNA), the unveiling ceremony and book signing event for ‘Stories That Were Not Screened,’ penned by Abulfazl Jalili, was held at Sarv Cultural Center with the efforts of Sarv Library and Winter Literary Circle, attended by Abdolreza Akbari (actor), Changiz Habibian (singer), and other artists, athletes, and lyricists.

Abulfazl Jalili recalled the early days of the war and its impact on his life. Referring to his activity as a film producer at the time, he said: ‘In those days, I did everything myself because I didn’t trust anyone.’

He referred to memories from the post-war period and said: ‘I remember writing a short story. This story later became a book that won an award a year later.’

Jalili further pointed to the challenges of his surgery and absolute rest, saying: ‘The doctor told me to rest, but I returned to filming after three days.’

He spoke of his connections with other artists and their influence on his work, adding: ‘Mr. Nezam Kiaei is a noble and educated director in Germany who has always supported me.’

Abulfazl Jalili, expressing gratitude to those who helped him along his path, emphasized: ‘I am proud that with the awards I recently received, I proved that one can achieve success with effort and perseverance.’

Azizollah Haji Mashhadi, a film critic, analyzed the works of this filmmaker and writer as a program speaker. He said: ‘Abulfazl Jalili is not only a director but also a narrator of life.’

‘With a deep look at the details of daily life, he has been able to display vivid and realistic images of society.’

Actor Abdolreza Akbari also, referring to Abulfazl Jalili’s works that have been screened, said: ‘Abulfazl Jalili only has 14 or 15 cinematic works, many of which have never been screened. But he is a person with a very strong pen who narrates stories that have never been pictured.’
