Book ‘Introduction to Sangak Rural Plants and Surrounding Highlands’ Unveiled
According to the correspondent of Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) in Arak, Bahman Rahmani, the author of the book, referring to the motivation for writing this work, the topics of various chapters, the writing style, and the strengths of the work, said: The application of the book ‘Introduction to Sangak Rural Plants and Surrounding Highlands’ can be useful for researchers in traditional medicine, medicinal plants, rural economy, and beekeeping.
He added that this book is the result of several years of field research in the Sangak region and its surrounding highland environments. He further stated: Understanding the therapeutic properties and nectar-yielding capabilities of the plants in this region can contribute to the sustainable development of agricultural and beekeeping activities.
Rahmani continued: One of the goals of compiling this work is to familiarize the young generation with the overlooked capacities of the pristine rural nature, as well as to record indigenous knowledge transferable from the past to the present; knowledge that, if not documented today, will be erased from our cultural memory in the near future.
He noted: The study of indigenous plants in the region, especially in rural and highland ecosystems, can help preserve local knowledge and increase public awareness; a topic that holds great importance in the local literature of Markazi province.
At the end of the ceremony, two critics in the field of medicinal plants and beekeeping presented their views and criticisms regarding this work, emphasizing the necessity of supporting research related to natural resources in rural areas.
