Call for the Ninth Edition of Iran Cinema Book of the Year Award Published
According to Iran Book News Agency (IBNA), the text of the call is as follows:
In line with the expansion of research and thought in the field of cinema art, and with the aim of honoring the efforts of authors, translators, and publishers active in cinematic studies, the Cinema House is holding the ninth edition of the Iran Cinema Book of the Year Award.
This cultural event will be held in May 2026, and the best works published in the field of cinema over the past four years will be honored.
Jury Focus
In this edition, all cinema-related books published for the first time in Iran from early 2021 to the end of 2024 will be included in the judging process.
Conditions of Participation
- Books must have a valid ISBN.
- Sending six copies of each book title by the publisher, author, or translator is mandatory.
- Printed screenplays will not be judged in this award.
- Non-Persian books written about Iranian cinema during the specified period can participate in the competition, and if their number reaches the quorum, they will be judged in a separate section.
Awards
The awards for the ninth edition of the Iran Cinema Book of the Year Award will be presented in three categories:
- Best Cinematic Authorship
- Best Cinematic Translation
- Best Publisher active in the field of Cinema
Additionally, at the closing ceremony of this edition, one of the prominent figures in the field of cinematic literature will be honored for their effective contribution to the advancement of Iranian culture and art.
Deadline and Submission Method
Dear publishers, authors, and translators can send their works by the end of December 2026, along with complete specifications (name of author or translator, publisher, year of publication, and contact information) and a letter requesting participation in the ninth Iran Cinema Book of the Year Award, to the award secretariat.
